FOUNDER & HEAD DOG TRAINER

Janelle is the heart behind YDD and the expert leading our wonderful team. With more than 10 years of experience in the canine industry, including running YDD for the past 4 years, she's dedicated her career to helping dogs and their owners build stronger, happier relationships.

Her experience spans pet care businesses, volunteering at animal shelters, studying canine behaviour, working in veterinary clinics, and managing dog day cares. Whether she's helping a nervous new puppy owner, guiding a dog's behavioural journey, or supporting the YDD team, Janelle's passion for dogs shines through in everything she does.

YDD was born from her belief that every dog owner deserves the knowledge and confidence to provide the very best care for their dog. She continues to study canine behaviour, health, and wellbeing to ensure clients receive practical, up-to-date advice that helps them better understand and connect with their best friend.

Outside of work, Janelle is happiest when she's off-grid camping with friends, spending quality time with her beloved dog Chica, or embracing her true talent: being a professional couch potato. Thankfully, this usually balances out Jack's constant quest to drag her into whatever hobby he's enthusiastically discovered that week.

Her toxic trait? There are simply too many to list.

BUSINESS MANAGER

Jack is YDD's chief organiser. He manages client enquiries, scheduling, finances and marketing, helping ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.

Having grown up on a farm breeding Stud Jack Russell Terriers and Welsh Ponies, a love of animals has always been part of who he is. Combined with his Pet First Aid qualification and years of hands-on experience, if you find Jack away from the desk, your dog is always in safe hands.

When he's not working on YDD, you'll likely find him on a golf course, at the gym, playing padel, relaxing at the beach, or trying out his latest hobby.

Jack's toxic trait is enthusiasm for new hobbies. If there's a new pastime to try, chances are he's already researched it, bought the gear, and convinced himself it'll be a lifelong passion... at least until next month.

DOG HANDLER
Ella has been working in the animal industry for around 4 years now, mainly specialising in dog daycare, and has recently spent time at a training facility learning about behaviour and handling dogs of all different breeds, sizes, and personalities!

She’s completed her Certificate III in Animal Care Services and is currently studying her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, driven by a lifelong passion for animals and their health and wellbeing.

One of Ella’s favourite things about working with dogs is getting to know each of their individual personalities, building trust with them, and watching their confidence grow.

A few fun facts about Ella:

• She has her own gorgeous cocker spaniel, Mabel, and a Boston Terrier called Alfie! 🐶

• She loves travelling and exploring new places

• Her toxic trait is going shopping for one thing and coming home with ten (something we can all probably relate to)

DOG HANDLER

Hanna grew up surrounded by animals - from budgies, rabbits, and chickens to horses and dogs. This lifelong connection shaped her belief in working alongside animals to achieve shared goals, a philosophy that continues to define how she interacts with every dog she meets today.

Hanna truly believes that by taking the time to understand a dog’s needs and providing guidance with empathy and fairness, we create a relationship built on trust. For her, that trust is what makes spending time with dogs so rewarding.

Originally from Germany, Hanna spent years living and working in a large city before moving to Australia four years ago. Realising how much she missed her connection with animals, she rescued her own dog, Ava, and began volunteering at two dog shelters in Perth to deepen her experience in walking and handling.

After meeting and learning from Janelle, Hanna is thrilled to officially join the Your Dog’s Day team and is looking forward to making every dog's day a great one.

RESIDENT DOG IN-TRAINING

Chica is the resident pooch at YDD. She is currently in-training and will soon be a key pillar in the day to day business to help with socialisation and reactive dogs in our behavioural consults. For now, Chica will feature in our group adventures keeping all the dogs on their toes and also helping us assess the suitability of dogs who wish to join our groups.

Outside of her day job, Chica has lots of hobbies! Some of her favourite include going to the beach, running in the bush, camping, visiting cafes and meeting every dog she sees along the way. On a more serious note, Chica is into scent work, learning new tricks and is constantly working on her obedience (which is a work in progress).
